Statesville Distribution Services, Inc. (SDS) is a “one-stop shop” for your distribution and warehousing needs, which can trace its roots back over 100 years to Holland Transfer Company, which began serving the Statesville, NC area in 1907. S.R. Holland Transfer Company started in 1907 with a team of horses and a drayage wagon. He joined his brother W.R. Holland in 1912 and formed Holland Brothers, which grew to 7 horses and wagons until 1915 when the first trucks became available. The company hauled primarily coal, wood, and cotton.
In 1941, Holland Transfer and Storage was organized by W.R. Holland and his brother R.B Holland Sr. The company was located at 916 Salisbury Road, in the heart of Statesville, NC about 3 miles from Holland Transfer’s current location.
In 1986, owners R.B Holland and C.L. Poole constructed a 90,000 square foot warehouse and distribution center located at the current location of 2088 Salisbury Highway (Old Highway 70) in Statesville, NC. The current office, cross dock, and tractor shop were added in 1988. In January 2007, current owner Jeff Harvey “spun off” the distribution center that was formerly Holland Distribution, into the separate company that is known today as Statesville Distribution Services, Inc.
In 2014, Statesville Distribution Services expanded as they open the Harvey Holdings Inc. Operations Center, located at 2227 Salisbury Hwy in Statesville.
With 117,000 square feet of warehouse space and 6,000 feet of new office space, the HHI Operations Center will offer an expansive new venue for our warehouse customer and potential customers. HHI will also serve as a central office complex which will house the majority of our operations staff. The additional space and prime location allow customers to enjoy the best of one-stop shopping with our combined logistics companies that handle Full Truck Load, Less Than Truckload, and International Container Shipping.
